Located in land 42 KM (26 miles), North West of Tulum, Cobá was re-discovered in 1926 by Lord Erick S. Thompson. In Cobá you will find the highest pyramid in all of the Yucatan Peninsula with 42 meters high and 122 steps. It shows in the construction of its buildings a strong influence of the Mayas of Central America. It is known that during its glorious time, Cobá obtained great relevance in politics and religion because of its various roads (sac be) which connected to other sites in the Yucatan. Today, it is still surrounded by dense vegetation making your visit a great adventure.
